Am proposing to do the following. Do these steps look right? Would this be how you would do it?
Was wondering if there was any advice/gotcha's in regards to the following steps and how long do you think it takes for the new raid pair to initialize and become "usable" to the OS (Step 6).
===============================================================
1. Verify if we have to update the server firmware/bios to support the new H200 firmware, if so then do that.
2. Down server, Update H200 Adapter firmware, reboot and verify new firmware doesn't cause an issue (25 minutes?)
3. Update new H200 Adapter Windows drivers, reboot, and verify firmware/driver update causes no issues (25 minutes?)
4. Down server, attach cables to new drives, reboot server, go into H200 config utility, create new raid 1 volume Save/Exit raid config utility and proceed with server boot (15 minutes - new raid volume now initializing in the background - my guess is that the new volume won't be able to be used by OS until done initializing).
5. Verify server boots successfully (no BSOD) and is usable while the new raid volume is initializing (20 minutes?)
6. Wait for the new raid volume to finish initializing (90 minutes?)
7. Mark the new, fully initialized raid volume as usable to the OS (5 minutes?)
8. Perform some copy tests to the new volume (15 minutes?)
9. Reboot server and verify new raid volume remains stable and usable after a server reboot (15 minutes?)
