From Open Manage SMTD/SBUU DVD perspective, Server Power Edge 2900 is supported for the installation of Windows Server 2008 x86 sp2, Windows Server 2008 R2 Sp1, Windows Server 2008 x64 Sp2, Windows Small Business Server 2011. Any of these OS installations should work on 2900.
You can refer to the OSmatrix for the same from SMTD DVD rom location -> \\DVDROM\html\en\platform\osmatrix.html
