M620 BCom57810 VLAN

Hi. I'm trying to deploy a WS2012 image via WDS (PXE) using WinPE.

Server has 2x 57810 (integrated mezz A, daughter mezz B). The ports on the switches are configured in trunk mode. For the OS deployment, I've picked one of the NICs and configured it with a valid VLAN ID in the NIC BIOS. The blade successfully discovers DHCP, receives an IP address and boots the WinPE image from WDS (PXE). All is fine until that point.

But when in WinPE, I need network connectivity too, but it doesn't seem to work. Using ipconfig I see that all 4 adapters have an APIPA address (and not the it received from DHCP for the adapter that has the VLAN configured in BIOS) and even after specifying correct static IP address, I still cannot reach the network.

I wasn't sure if it is a missing NIC driver problem (however ipconfig showed the right adapter names), so to be sure I've injected the latest drivers (EVBD) from BCom into the WinPE image, but that didn't help either.

I'm lost what the problem could be, the only thing that comes to mind is that the VLAN ID configured in NIC BIOS is only valid in the pre-OS environment and once WinPE starts, it ignores it. However this doesn't seem too plausible to me.

Any ideas/advices?

PS: I wasn't sure in which forum to put this, so feel free to move it to a correct one

Thank you in advance
