R420 ESXi on Internal USB

Hello Everyone,

Has anyone successfully been able to install ESXi on a flash drive using the internal USB port? All of the versions I've tried get to about 5%-9% and then crash.

Installing to the hard drives (SSD RAID) works successfully. By the way, the standard ISO from VMware v5.1.0 Update 01 works on the R420. I didn't have to use the custom Dell ISO. It still didn't install to the flash drive.

I've successfully done this on the R610s. I'm familiar with how it works. I'm getting the impression the internal USB port on the R420 isn't fast enough or isn't capable of this?

Has anyone successfully been able to install ESXi on a flash drive using the internal USB port?
