It is the exact same procedure as what VMware has on their website.
I typically upgrade vCenter first, then I either use the update manager and push the Dell ISO, or just boot to the Dell customized ISO (this has the NIC drivers for all NICs Dell offers on their current servers (the plain VMware image doesn't support all of them and you then have to manually install the drivers for ESXi to recognize the NICs).
